Bunostegos

An extinct, cow-sized animal with hard knobs on its nose and forehead. Its full scientific name is "Bunostegos akokanensis" and was named by paleontologists Christian A. Sidor, David C. Blackburn, and Boube Gado. Its fossils were first discovered in 2003 in the Moradi Formation in Niger and date back to 260 million years ago. The reptile was a herbivore and lived in an isolated desert region of the supercontinent of Pangaea. The Bunostegos belongs to the pareiasaur family and is believed to have died out with the other pareiasaurs in the Permian-Triassic extinction event about 252 million years ago.
